Q1: When did you start writing and first influences?
Tina: I started writing in my tweens and was influenced the most by classical poets. I grew up in a religious cult so I had to sneak reading material and ended up reading anything and everything I could get my hands on.
Q2: Who are your biggest influences today?
Tina: I love so many writers. Poetry is still a major influence but I also love Stephen King, Terry Pratchett and about a million other writers. They all influence me in small ways usually just by inspiring me.
Q3: Where did you grow up and how did that influence your writing/art?
Tina: I grew up in a very conservative doomsday religious cult. Art and reading unrelated to the bible or the cult were not allowed but my parents also used the library as a babysitter and would often leave me there all day with instructions not to read anything…which I ignored. I read EVERYTHING. Car manuals, poetry, science, self-help, fiction. You name it, I read it. My favorites were poetry, mystery, and science fiction.
Q4: Have any travels away from work?
Tina: We moved a LOT while I was growing up. By the age of thirty I had moved 38 times. Because I was always moving around I have not had much of a desire to do more traveling. Most of the places I have lived are featured in my stories. And I did travel out of country to Canada a few times. The beautiful nature there was inspiring.
Q5: Any pivotal moment when you knew you wanted to be a writer/artist?
Tina: I love the act of creating things. While there was no one pivotal moment I will day I have wanted to be a writer an artist since my teen years.
Q6: Favorite activities to relax?
Tina: Painting, reading, listening to music (all types of music), and watching adorable animal videos online are at the top of my list of relaxing activities. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXtASMSzXIU
Q7: Any recent or forthcoming projects you’d like to promote?
Tina: My writer site is https://ramblingsoftea.wordpress.com/ and I don’t have anything particular to promote.
Q8: One of your favorite lines from a poem or favorite art piece created?
Q9: Who has helped you most with writing & creating?
Tina: Other writers and books on writing. My lovely bestie @randomelity has also been amazing. She’s also a writer and it’s great to bounce ideas off each other.
