Announcements: 2 Poetry Readings in Evansville for Fevers of the Mind with David L O’Nan & friends

Hello everyone, after a near 3 year reading aloud hiatus I have set up 2 poetry & music appreciation reading events. Poetry, music, essay style pieces, book discussions, a book signing & more. These readings will be based on the Fevers of the Mind brand. Poetry based on anxieties, social justice and appreciation and inspiration from stories/music/poetry about Leonard Cohen (2nd Anthology coming out in February from Fevers of the Mind “Before I Turn Into Gold” with artwork from Geoffrey Wren) Bob Dylan inspired pieces (hoping for a Dylan Anthology coming out by Summer) readings from my book “Bending Rivers” a poetry and short stories collection, pieces from the Cohen anthologies, and from a manuscript currently being reviewed “Before the Bridges Fell” pieces.

*With any pieces read please no racism, homophobic, sexist or sexually explicit material”

The 1st reading will be Saturday April 16th at Your Brother’s Bookstore in Downtown Evansville, Indiana 504 Main Street 47708 Readers are subject to change but we are hoping to have Kentucky poet/legend Ron Whitehead coming in for a set, Author of “Kin” Shawna Kay Rodenberg to discuss her wonderful book, Joan Hawkins, Peggy Pirro, Snow Mathews, Rob Z, Jon Koker, Joseph Fulkerson, possibly Joe Kidd & Sheila Burke coming from Michigan and more.


The 2nd reading will be Friday May 20th after 5 p.m. at BlueStocking Social Bookstore on 606 B S. Weinbach Avenue Evansville, IN 47714 A reading with a book signing, Q&A and more. Other readers will be announced over the next few weeks. Dr. Lorna Wood, Midwest Writer’s Guild Members and Tony Brewer are hopeful guests. Themes will be a continuation of what the Fevers of the Mind brand brings and a celebration of the music/writing of Cohen & Dylan. Anxiety, Social Justice pieces & more.

The Goals of 2022: Working on revising own books, any poetry published on this site will be eligible for a Print Anthology during the year (unless otherwise asked not to) Some poetry/art published on this site will periodically be taken down if space is running low. We will try our best to get as many pieces self-published on Fevers of the Mind Anthologies & print/kindle books over the year. Pieces that are up for Best of the Net Nominations and other award nominees will remain on the site longer. There will not be any mass deletions of work. You will be guaranteed at least 6-8 months exposure on our website no matter what!

Submissions open: Looking for Poetry for Adhd Awareness, Mental Health, Anxiety, Culture, History, Social Justice, LGBTQ Matters/Pride, Love, Poem series, sonnets, physical health, pandemic themes, Trauma, Retro Pop Culture Music & otherwise.

Submissions are for blog only at this time(but could be included in print anthologies) : Poetry, Art, Book Reviews, culture pieces, rants, pre-published poetry from self-published materials, defunct lit mags, pieces from other lit mags with permissions.

All submissions with bio. Please let us know if something has been previously published, we will make a judgment call on whether able to include.  Please give us 2-3 weeks for an answer on accepted/rejected pieces. We will not send rejection e-mails. As long as work follows our guidelines or contests, prompts they have a good chance of being published on our site. If not accepted at first Just try again…but please just send once a month if a piece was rejected at first. We will not accept pieces that we deem racist, sexist, homophobic, or have pornographic themes, photos, or any type of nudity in submissions.

Also, writing new stuff all the time.

Hope to get several other anthologies curated and put together by year’s end.



As I am updating my past books, I have been deleting some posts & as you’ve seen re-posted some other poems. I am trying to organize this a little better especially with my writings on the site. Some links will be updated and some media will be changed over time as well.
