Poetry: Inside Mausoleums I, II, III by Andrew Cyril MacDonald

Insides of mausoleums

i

Shapes shifted
blue, turquoise endeavored
to the favorite bar
 of constant devotion stumbled
across them—
distant voices once here
thereafter recollected,
existent of a higher plane
everybody all as one
talked about it…

some no man’s land
sought for
if retrogressive.

ii

Type doors
to faded sepulchers
spectraled silhouettes align with,
bundles what
shape-shifts light makes
ancestrally devoted
here in tombs
windows encase them,
cutting distance to climb of
one’s paradise eternal
a squared room
dreamed alabaster
contorts it.

iii

Sky’s throw
the distance that reaches,
touches off-based
thermal closed-sets in
cold stocks we harvest
at once for all if
consequents upon our choices
stand tall to accuse of
some other’s vision what grace is
stocked triumphant.

Poetry Showcase from Andrew Cyril Macdonald

Against panes shadows glisten

Against panes shadows glisten
in mock of what we call for.
It shouts their names the winds that
out-there blister should you
confront them. Inside no chance
of deep-tucked in beds the
silence protecting.
So it stores its rage in barrels
fathers told us, as stock and
what might come of when our sins
outweigh our graces cared with.
Hurtful when you upheld them,
this life betrays what turns dust,
the dread of such punishments
plagues if fast now approaching.

Consternation devalues

Consternation devalues,
puts to test such
the subtle amputation
of ego broken if in jest.
Here we have it ruled
that if holds power what
they should want for
ours to give it
unwieldy in ruffled
stations play discovering
kindness at best
there dislocated
that what comes as ruse
samples-out our role
for this mere data collection.

There are claims made by music

There are claims made music
then to be heard
if you give it listen
and let apprehending
nine truths their abandon.
Count them as one;
lose them as each,
you will not regret it
the happy chance
of love-lost rendition.

The stratus cloud beats inhibition

The stratus cloud beats inhibition,
staggers beyond
realm of what let it
feel the fold, a program
conducive of trust
misdirected.
And there you have in what
out-loud is arrogant combustion,
simple if minded
likewise come out of
that same class
of petricolored doors
afterlifes adorn with,
happy for the stance taken
against convoluting spendthrifts.

What some rogue prentice left un-shouted

What some rogue prentice left un-shouted
(Mephistopheles not his name
but some other by which goes by
discipled) upstarts more the safe
way to heaven oleanders give for,
come about as begets with
what saves Time its restitution
this mere justice happenstance affords
reckless youths who never should have bothered
but that we own them, coming all to dance off
the soft heat summer propels with,
inching towards scales of what’s flourished
when spring buds turn off to flower
and they have it that freedom
once taught of now daemonic if then embellished.

Public housing demolition

We drew back time Truth squandered
and saw interest given
to the vigour vision then need

then missive made when a
wrecking ball served as reminder.

It took on worlds reputations lagged in
— slots of what was left

a dwindled youth
other crises awaited.

Now they wander what seems
better option choose of:

these building blocks torn down
and held in dreams of
walls their bricks and plasters.

Panic

Polar nexus tells truths
life’s found

in groans
instance pictures.

One condition settles score:
lost cause stammering

in stunt mouths pronounced them
their hyphenated pause.

Extremes of giving reassessant

under penumbrae proved wrong,
trite adventures clothe

these preserves representing
scrimmaged dreams

mirrored light gloves
from refracting glass.

And succumbs. Bellicose
entries dark rooms undone

dark tenements emptied

to scuttle plots encumbering sorts
of goods we respond

when misnomer of relief
retains in what

here now wayward
bound ambition aggresses.

A questioned reality

Transmutation severs purpose,
causes old impressions hold forms
before onslaught happens.

It does and leaves tethered
lost heads compellent fostered contentions
gathered in watches pressing forward
composing the data
lost sides assemble
before stoic pauses wisdom produces.

It makes them complacent the trials ambulating.

With kaleidoscopes that lose their focus
among dead standings loose
are mirrored impressions
that embrace and swallow
old conventions tendering veins
of those who cannot face it—
that death pervading
truths eternal if still obdurate.

We close up then,
sequestering in the cause
of all what’s bogus.

Pre-nuptial

A fought-for clause prevents enigma,
purveys trails that ought to follow
stipulations of grandeur.

No mystery then
but what it is draws us
together, making shape of fails

set to happen for reasons here listed.

Now it’s written as intended condition
surveying spells got us betrothed to
intimations bending each as

upright through
distending conventions
commerce what makes them

if gains of partnership we lasted.
