A Lover’s Song

And so this week has come to pass
We now know that true love can last

Home I must go and there I shall wait
For you to return better sooner than late

In this world of coyish play
I’m never more than a phone call away

When others lie and let you down
                                     I will always be around

I think I know what makes you blue
So I also know what not to do

You have a ticket for this ride
But only a strong man will survive

So don’t despair and don’t you fear
My love will always be this near
I love you madly you know it’s true
And thought this was a dream like you

But it’s real and feels so grand
And beckons us to make a stand

So my sweet you must come to me
And forever we shall live free

                                   A Lover's Quest

Into my life he strolled one day
Wanting much but not knowing what to say

At first he came only to play
Then lovingly asked if he could stay

An open heart with a questioning mind
Yet somehow I knew he would be kind

A tender lover and a caring man
Together we shall make our stand

Sometimes he feels scared and alone
And thinks of all that he has known

Some fun some good and some so bad
But most of all those who made him sad

But he knows I’ll never make him doubtful or blue
Because truth loves in our voice when we say ‘I love you’
