Poetry by Christian Garduno: “Point of Levity”

Point of Levity

A thousand vows of silence
to push through the pale black lies
so I’m ready to go on and turn the record over
until we reach the point of levity
was it fog or was it steam?
premonitions of the universe being born in a dream
half of your soul is running some kind of interference
until you end up somebody’s something else
fading like a half-memory in the light
it rolls down to your collar bone
just like last time when we almost worked it out
you rocked me down to my foundations
there’s a crack in the dream and you both know that it’s over
you can’t out-run Eternity
although you can try it forever
