       As the Dancers Dance

As the dancer’s dance together at night

until early morning shines its light

                              Pulsating rhythms surround the pair

as they twirl each other without a care

As the music casts its hypnotic spell

the dancers movement tries to foretell

The story of how they began this dance

if not by plan then merely by chance

Flickering shadows dance across the floor

as they mingle and dance without a care more

As they lie asleep under the moon so far

nestled so soundly by the swirling stars

Tranquil in the quiet coolness of the air

eclipsed only by wind blowing in their hair

Watercolor memories captured in time

and for just a moment you will be mine

Whispers of light illuminate the wall

till awakened at dawn by the songbirds call

While the soothing coolness of mornings mist

sprinkles droplets of dew as the lovers kiss

Until next time as they dance all night long

and awaken as the sun beckons at dawn
