An Untitled piece by Xerado in Avalanches in Poetry (2019)

Untitled piece in Avalanches in Poetry: Writings & Art Inspired by Leonard Cohen by Xerado

Rusty gravel sparkled,
diamonds in the rough,
in a voice thought gruff
as the bard sang hard
ballads softly,
found and wrenched like
coal from deep within the soul.

they danced like lovebirds
caught in a traffic jam,
dreams held tightly
in once sweaty hands,
life leaked slowly
through a hole in one shoe,
the left was pink,
the right was blue,
a colored tattoo read:
i love you.

    Uh….
    Words fail.

    I love this!

    “life leaked slowly”

    Damn!
    Brilliant!

Reminds me somehow of “Diamonds and Rust”

“Well, I’ll be damned; here comes your ghost again….”

(But I know you know the song)

    Great post!
    Cheers,
