Uprising
My body. An orchestra of fractured lyrics punctuated with silhouettes of angst– shapeless dreams– half baked.
littered gardens, part pale
roses,
part weeds
bruised egos & burn outs. The cacophonies of searing emotions roving in my head
are anecdotes of the burden I harbour.
Each day affords fresh reasons to
question
my marbles. So
I seclude myself often, in my tiny room
(a haven of a shell) to undress my
soul & rid it of its filth. By filth,
I mean the encumbering haze.
I also
mean, the pangs
of misery. Do you know how it feels? for an army of woes to trample on your ego
& clip your wings. I sheltered this
darkness for eons– which is to
say– I have crammed every
malicious
fiber in its form. &
I’m now nearing that part of the road where the light never dies– where wings are
never clipped. I’m learning to
parade healing– on valiant
shoulders,
in my bright
smiles– with elegance & copious boluses of resilience. This is it! A proof of my progress. The fervent desire to be
whole again. & I know that I am
deserving of it all.
All the
beautiful things.
A Body & Beyond
For every body - shape, curve or whatever
The mirror nearly shatters from the
Intense glaring.
Eyes pregnant with fury as if to
reign curses on the
image rooted behind it. Your delineation of
sanity– nestled in blaspheming the day it
was named yours– is a
factor of how you perceive this body. You cry your eyes
into void each time it heeds not, then you poison its
wholeness as revenge for each morsel of shame
gleaned. Read the next few lines dear one, for this
hurting will not cease before
you learn your body’s love language: your body is a haven
of blinding lights waiting for harvest.
First, cast away the thorns puckering your heart & behold the
gift that was given–
that your body is also deserving of the love you crave: your body
is home to the
happiness you wish to feel,
So reach out
& embrace it.
