Poetry by Jenna Faccenda : Athazagoraphobia in Fevers of the Mind Press Presents the Poets of 2020

Athazagoraphobia
Athazagoraphobia is the fear of being

Forgotten

Abandoned

Or Ignored

The sound of your absence is a

Deafening tone

Two decades later

And I still can't seem to find a way to fold my outstretched arms

I found that the empty space has a way of pulling in

The broken

And bruised

Their fragmented pieces

Reflect the little girl inside of me

She calls out,

"Daddy"
