Poems by Pasithea Chan : “Everyone’s Show” “Wrong to Be Right” “Saying I Love You”

Everyone's Show

I don't understand how they can't understand
that I can't stand what they want me to withstand.
Words are pebbles in feelings sand
tearing your heart before your eyes
because someone has a heart of ice.

You don't have to bray to be an ass
Just smile like one with nothing to say
not even sorry for being an ass
thinking your wit will give you a pass.
Kindness is a law for those who aren't low.

Humans know how to show
feelings in words and deeds
not just lies or cutting replies.
It's nice to be nice not just look nice
Sadly, it's hard to know when everyone has a show.

Wrong to Be Right

It's easy to be right if you fight
caring about what's right
You can say your mind outright
treating family or friends
as social experiments or turfs.
They won't leave, right?

Wrong can play along when
spite is always right despite
knowing what's not right.
It puts up its fists whenever it fits
craving contrite, counting wins.
They're just spiteful words, right?

Pride is spite's horse, riding respite
to loneliness' inevitable plight;
luring one with false light to ignite
hate with unrequited love.
Sometimes you need to be wrong
to be strong enough to fight for what's right.

Saying I Love You

Words flee my mind to reside
with fluttering memories of you
Just as my heart can't decide
What parts of you
it wishes to devour or put aside.

I keep trying to put what I feel
In words, but they fail to sound real.
You are a dream that makes me keel
knowing you make all my hurts heal.

Having you by my side is just a stride
Verified in the course of loving you
For a lifetime simplified
With an endless need for you.

So today allow me to steal
your smile as I kiss you lips to seal
your heart and make you feel
my heart melt with yours for real.

With you there's nothing to hide.
All I desire and want is you.
For until time's tide
carries me to you;
this is me saying: I love you!
